**Thodupuzha:** One-year-old twin children died at Ozhivathadam in Adimali, Idukki, and police have taken their father, Afsal, into custody in connection with the incident. Police said there were inconsistencies in Afsal’s statements and that he had given different versions of the events.

According to the police, Afsal initially stated that the children had consumed thinner, a substance used in paint. However, a preliminary examination did not find that thinner had entered the children’s bodies, according to the available information.
